Get an email
You can use a service to watch the RSS feed and update you when there is a new post. Below are some options. I am not necessarily endorsing these services or use them myself. You give these services your email and a webpage or RSS URL (mine is: https://dataelephant.co.uk/rss.xml), and it will email you when there is a new post.
- Blogtrottr — free unlimited subscriptions with ads.
- Feedrabbit— free for up to 10 subscriptions; no ads.
Social Media
I plan to post updates (and other things) on Mastodon regularly, so you can follow me there. You should be able to follow me from Mastodon or Threads (if Fediverse sharing is enabled). I will sometimes post to LinkedIn or other social media, but I don’t want to make any promises.
Start using RSS…?
RSS readers can ‘follow’ many websites and show you what’s new. It is a great way to curate your own news feed instead of relying on someone else’s algorithm. Some apps that you can use, again I’m not specifically endorsing these. These are probably overkill for following one website, but more for curating a feed across all the websites you want to follow.
- Feedly — I’ve used this one in the past, it is one of the more popular options. There’s a free tier for up to 100 feeds and 3 folders (though I have more folders and didn’t pay, but I set this up a while ago).
- inoreader — Free tier up to 150 subscriptions and plenty of organisational features.
- NetNewsWire — Free and has good reviews but for apple devices only.
There are many more options for RSS readers too.
